Helplines

  • Samaritans offers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year telephone support for those who feel in difficulty and need someone to talk to urgently. Their contact number is 01633 259000.
  • Wales Domestic Abuse Helpline offers a 24/7 confidential, freephone support and information service for anyone experiencing domestic abuse or wanting more information on available support services. Their contact number is 0808 8010 800.
  • C.A.L.L Helpline is a community advice and listening line for mental health issues. Their contact number is 0800 132 737 and you can also contact them by texting: HELP & your question to 81066.
  • Carersline a community advice and listening line for mental health issues. Their contact number is 0800 132 737 and you can also contact them by texting: HELP & your question to 81066.


Helplines for Children & Young People

  • Childline is a general help website for young people who are going through a difficult time or feel they are being abused by adults. It has a chat area and helpline, plus many other useful resources.
  • NSPCC has information, help, advice and a 24 hour advice line for those concerned about child cruelty.

Drug and Alcohol Services

  • Kaleidoscope provides a range of support for people dealing with drug and alcohol misuse. They can also offer support groups and detox support
  • GDAS – Gwent Drug and Alcohol Service offers support and interventions for adults with substance misuse issues.
  • Talk to Frank has facts, information and advice concerning the dangers of drug taking. This site also has live web chat, text and helpline.


Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence

  • Clare’s Law – The Domestic Abuse Disclosure Scheme is for anyone who suspects that you, or a loved one, might be involved in an abusive relationship, this Law allows you to contact your local police force to find out more about that person.
